About C20 Brazil
The Brazilian Presidency of Civil20 (C20) under the coordination of ABONG – Brazilian Association of NGOs began on December 1st, 2023 together with the Brazilian Presidency of the G20.
Under the Brazilian presidency, the CSO Gestos was chosen as C20 Sherpa. Gestos has more than 30 years of work defending and promoting the rights of people who are seropositive for the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and populations vulnerable to sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The organization also facilitates the Civil Society Working Group for the 2030 Agenda and has been following G20 activities since 2011, being one of the most experienced in Brazil when it comes to C20.
C20 Brazil seeks positive outcomes for society as a whole, under the principle of economic justice, and focuses on effective financial means and efficient allocation of resources to achieve these outcomes. The principle is “leave no one behind”. In this way, the group seeks to ensure greater balance in dialogue with the G20 Tracks, being a space that works so that civil society has the same level of access to governments as representatives of economic sectors.
